Do you name your quilts or quilted projects?  I think this is one of most fun parts of making a quilt.  I give a title or name to everything I make, it just makes it more real to me.  A little more compulsive behavior you say?  Maybe!

The picture shown here is a quilt I made several years ago, and it's a class I've taught.  Even though it is a Fall quilt I wanted to use this one as an example as to how I name my quilts and quilted projects.  This quilt is called "Fall Whimsy"  and it goes in a full store display that has like colorings and similar fabrics across the many projects that are in that particular display.  When I make a store display, I try to pull fabrics that not only go well together for the theme I am planning, but I try to make sure that I have at least one to two yards of each of those fabrics, so I can use as many of the fabrics in every project in the display.  While I am in store display "mode" for any particular theme I jot down words that come to mind when I think of that theme.  This helps me come up with the titles and names for all of the projects.  It's just a FUN way to bring the whole project together and it puts a memory to the quilt so it will easily become a small part of THE QUILTED STORY!
